Pundits Predictions for Cas

Post by CasRus » 31 Jan 2018, 17:28

I note the three stooges Barrie, Phil and Terry on Sky RL page are predicting Cas as finishing 2nd,3rd and 4th by each of their own predictions.

One thing that I do agree on in their comments is that Cas won't be achieving high blowout scores against opposition like last season and games will be a hell of a lot closer. This is, I believe, due to the fact that all the top teams have strengthened considerably and they have also (like most people know) worked out Cas moves better - That's not to say that they will quench every move put on by Cas and Cas will score points.

If Cas can execute moves that bit quicker and more efficiently, then they could dominate - It's getting the players to also be situationally aware when gaps appear to throw out the ball at times when opposition flanks are exposed and to not re-trundle it back amongst the forward when these opportunities present themselves - There were loads of times Cas could have scored last season if they had been that bit more situationally aware.

I'll take 2nd, 3rd or 4th - any top 4 spot would do very nicely thanks

Finishing top gives you no more advantage in the plays off than 2nd place does, the only difference is a league leaders shield. As soon as that top 4 is confirmed it's anyones game. St Helens proved this last year, i reckon had they beat us in the SF, they'd of beaten Leeds and won it from 4th.

Leeds have banged on for years and years about it doesn't matter how you start, it's how you finish and untill you actually get in a position to win silverware, you don't realise just how correct they were.

I will be delighted with a top four finish, I think its well within our grasp, knowing our moves and then trying to stop them is another matter, concentrating on one aspect of our game leaves gaps some where else

Pretty fair comments from the Sky pundits. I've a feeling we won't get off to the same flying start nor be as dominant as last year but last year's GF experience might have put us in a better position to do the business at the end of the season.

I would take top 4 now if it was offered. I reckon most Cas fans would do the same.

I would take the hammerings Leeds got last year if it means we win the GF in the end!

We only need to be in the four then win a knockout game to get to old Trafford

More rotation required this year to avoid burn out

We need to keep relatively injury free (or other season changing event such as the Zak one), then I’m confident we can lift a trophy or two!
As others say, I would take a top 4 finish and a grand final win from there!

Hardly a big leap of faith from them.

I predict that Leicester City won't get in the top 4 teams in the premiership this year or next year. You wouldn't make much fun the bookies from my prediction.
