Agreed and Mcelland probably was the star, but JL was a stand out player and very consistent.gateman wrote:After watching Lois progress this year I am disappointed for him to leave, but for the next few years we seem to be well covered in the second row department , the one I would have loved to keep was Mclelland I think he will go far in the kick and clap brigade , good luck to both young fellas

He is very disappointed, as are some of the lads from the 19s, who have grown up playing rugby with him.

Sounds like you know the lad very well (Parent or best mate) and to leave the club he loves must be very disappointing.TownvillesTiger wrote:Believe whatever you chose to, it makes no odds to me.fords wrote:So the club statement is a lie then is what your saying ?TownvillesTiger wrote:I can assure you, it wasn't LJ's wish to leave.

Re: Another youngster gone.
Looks like Cas were more interested in the brass and Lee Briers sees more in LJ than Powell. Only time will tell if we made a good call on this one.fast hands wrote:Sounds like you know the lad very well (Parent or best mate) and to leave the club he loves must be very disappointing.TownvillesTiger wrote:Believe whatever you chose to, it makes no odds to me.fords wrote:So the club statement is a lie then is what your saying ?TownvillesTiger wrote:I can assure you, it wasn't LJ's wish to leave.

Re: Another youngster gone.
Even if LJ turns good to get £45k is outstanding business, that's a 3rd of what Hardaker cost. For someone that is completely unproven.

Doesn't matter what I believe, what your saying is the club is telling a lie.TownvillesTiger wrote:Believe whatever you chose to, it makes no odds to me.fords wrote:So the club statement is a lie then is what your saying ?TownvillesTiger wrote:I can assure you, it wasn't LJ's wish to leave.

Are you saying I'm lying?
Re: Another youngster gone.
There's a choice of 2 that are lying you or the club I don't know you (somone that's hiding behind an avatar) but the club put a name to there statement.

Re: Another youngster gone.
The truth is probably a mix of both. Cas probably told Johnson that they had received a very good offer that they were considering and he didn’t want to leave initially.
However, after weighing up his options and having several chats with Powelly and the club decided that actually moving to Warrington was the best option for his career. After all DP said it was “Luis’ wish to take up this offer” so they have obviously left the ball in his court.

Warrington are good at sweet-talking young players. A couple of years ago they managed to persuade the highly promising young half back who is related to Pete Smith from Fev, to leave Rhinos academy with the promise of putting him through uni, a flat/house share and shared car. Leeds could not/would not match it.
Re: Another youngster gone.
Warrington having a big money backer behind them helps, last year it did them no good long may it continue

Re: Another youngster gone.
They are in a good place to sweet talk young players when their head coach Steve Price was the England Academy Coach and got to work with the best youngsters from top clubs. It's easier than growing your own!cogito ergo sum wrote:Warrington are good at sweet-talking young players.
