Yes. But only really from an ecommerce perspective. If a page is down, it can impact on searches in Google/search engines, which in turn can reduce the amount of traffic the website gets in the short term.tigerfeat wrote:sure someone will correct me if im wrong but intit a poor show have your web site down for so long in this day and age?
Any maintenance should be done while the website is live in practice or if you intend to take it down for whatever reason, really you should put a 302 redirect in place to a holding page until the site is back up. This signifies that the page being redirected to is only temporary.
Failing that, you should do a website migration from an old site to a new site straight away if you're updating platforms. It shouldn't require you to take a website down.
As the majority of traffic to the Cas site will be Cas fans, I don't expect it to impact it in the long run. It's just a poor show for any prospective sponsors, new fans or people looking to do online shopping for Christmas presents.

All changes should be made on a "sandbox" test site with a view to testing all changes made before adding to the live environmentr. No major changes should be made to a website during peak hours (7AM - 10PM) and ideally should be mad early in the morning (1AM-3AM maintenance window).
No website should really go down in this day and age as if the changes have been tested on the dev environment, the live can be changed in a matter of seconds or alternatively wait until maintenance window is available as above.

I've a feeling the back end database is corrupted somewhat - the news is all over the place. Did you know we've just released the 2016 squad numbers? Also, the daily draw results for 20th October are now live.
