Milliners are rubbing their hands together with the thought of all those hats that are to be eaten
Re: New Ground for Cas or NOT !
Does this mean all funding is in place and work can start ? Do we still need more retailers signed up before anything can commence or does experience show with these kind of ventures that retailers will come on board as the development progresses? :-k
Seems like another positive article and there certainly is more regular information coming out. Let’s hope we see the highways work start soon as per the timeline on the Axiom Yorkshire website.

Re: New Ground for Cas or NOT !
This is a major development and I think funding streams were identified at the beginning. Mixing retail and leisure is, as the statement from the RGI states the way to get funding. The stadium is a key component in the development and given the stitch up of Wakefield by Yorkcourt was never going to repeat itself anyway.
I have always believed in this project and still would not be surprised with a groundshare.

Re: New Ground for Cas or NOT !
What is interesting about this is that taxpayers money has being spent in support of the project:HuddsTigers wrote:Another news snippet that may be of interest:

"Having acquired the site, RIF funding has enabled us to carry out enabling works including diversion of a major power line which formerly crossed the site.”
So now we have to hope that those people who committed that taxpayers cash have got it right and that the private sector will now cough up the £160 million needed to finish the project, including the new Cas ground.

Jcb at work in the middle of the site today
Re: New Ground for Cas or NOT !
This is exactly the type of project money is earmarked for:Aid wrote:What is interesting about this is that taxpayers money has being spent in support of the project:HuddsTigers wrote:Another news snippet that may be of interest:

Spending taxpayers money in the North of England is a MPs dream as they are always being accused of neglecting us when it comes to spending.
There are more fingers in this pie than we think.

Well with Squire Patton Boggs involved I guess we are assured of some decent toilets at last.
Re: New Ground for Cas or NOT !
When I picked the grandkids up from school in Ponty this aft, I could see a JCB at work on the hillside of the site.

More good news.
I have heard that the proposed petrol station will now be a car showroom with these guys as tenants:-

HuddsT might be able to confirm this.

No truth in Tesla as of yet. They were used along with another company as an example of who may take it up.Tigerade wrote:More good news.

But the petrol station has been swapped for a car showroom. It was on here a few months ago and planning has been approved for it.
