Jeez, stop panicking. There’s no rat whatsoever - it’s just cynicism on your part.

They changed the name to a more appealing one to attract retailers and be a part of something innovative. It’s just a name like Meadowhall, or Thorp Arch or Metro Centre.

What do you mean no proof of what they are doing? Everything is clear in black and white on the planning portal, in the plans and on the website.
You've constantly given good news and positivity from day one and fair play to you for that let's all hope you've got it spot on because if you havnt there will be plenty of need to panic !

The name Axiom is a hybrid name based on its location and the retail offering

Axi - comes from the fact that it sits on the Axis of the major road networks on the M62 and between the M1 and A1.

Om - because it is offering omni-retail experiences.

Hence Axiom. It’s a brand name chosen to sit alongside the likes of Xscape and Junction 32.

Anyone who wants to know more about this can watch this video which explains more https://m.youtube.com/watch?time_contin ... JuVJ753qRs

Regarding planning permission, this was only submitted in May 2017 for Reserved Matters and so doesn’t expire until May 2020. And even then it’s only necessary to reapply if work hasn’t started on the site.

You can also submit multiple applications for planning at the same time so realistically they could jack it all in just now and submit a new application for housing if they wanted rather than peeing about with Reserved Matters applications for a new stadium, submitting new Reserved Matters applications to amend the original consent, submitting non-material amendments to various aspects.

And since they originally submitted outline planning in July 2014 they have made 30 applications (including outline) for the scheme.

Bear in mind it took until Feb 2015 for Wakefield MDC to approve that, July 2015 for Government to say they weren’t calling it in, and September 2015 for Wakefield MDC to rubber stamp it, essentially they have submitted 29 applications following that in just under 3 years.

And then bear in mind the time it takes for each small application to be reviewed and approved by WMDC. Some a matter of weeks, some several months.

Not only that, but also engaging third parties and experts to put together the information for each application such as Civic Engineers, archaeologists, people who test soil quality and air quality.

In that timeframe, they have also had to go out and sell the site get pre-lets in place, which take negotiation. Then they had to put the finance into place too and these things just don’t happen straight away sadly and was actually conditional on an amendment to the scheme.

Pretty sure. I was sure they explained the brand name. Half the time some concerns can be allayed fairly easy.

Also, just to add this line was mentioned in the covering letter for the Reserved Matters application for the new stadium, in respect of the other Reserved Matters application.
"Once the latest reserved matters application has been approved for Phase 1 and 2a, this will allow work to start on site during 2018."
Also, I've done a quick totting up of how much Lateral have spent on planning fees alone and it totals around £208,000 to date.

Pleased to see I am not needed in this debate.
One final word the anchor tenants are usually the ones receiving most from the developers due to Kudos they bring.
They will not be the bread and butter financially.
We all remain and yes I am serious that this happens.
By Xmas I guess we will all know more.
Fingers crossed

By the way Hudds thank you for your explanation of the planning process and updates.
With only minor experience of dealing with planners they like many other professions dress up common sense in a language of their own to make simple things seem far more complicated than they are or need to be.
We all want Cas to succeed both onand off the field.
Unity is strength, regardless of what the subject is .
Believing does not make one gullible it is about faith and hope both strong human emotions, they maybe dash byothers at times.
But as my old dad used to say never let anyone steal your faith in yourself or the goodness of mankind.
People of his generation had seen enough of both sides of the coin to make statements like that.
So hopefully one day in the not too distant future we will bid a fond farewell to Wheldon Road with it's tradition and memories and move to our new shinny stadium.
I for one will miss the old girl.
See you all tonight BELIEVE.

Sounds like Steve Gill might read these forums, he's posted on Twitter this morning as a reply to Phil Caplan regarding the new Cas ground. "If you want to know about the new ground read Casforums, they know more about it than me" Oops.:)

If so, this is notice of the planning application to amend the Reserved Matters application for Phase 1 and 2a of the development.

If so, this is notice of the planning application to amend the Reserved Matters application for Phase 1 and 2a of the development.
It’s a Reserved Matters application dated 24th August for phases 2b, 3 and 4, similar to that posted above, states comments by 14th September.
