And this is why we need people to comment on things they can decipher. It's all Greek to me. ThanksHuddsTigers wrote:Not quite correct, as you are going off numbers of units, and not actual floorspace. Remember each unit is different in size and the ones mentioned are anchor with larger floorspace.
There's only 60 units now and of those already planned originally (Boots, M&S, Primark and Next), these accounted for 206,219 sq ft out of 555,498 sqft space, or 37% circa of the floorspace.
That means only 18% of floorspace has actually been agreed up to the latest announcement with the 5 new brands, which could be just the 5 units given there are 12 that have 10,000-20,000 sqft, and 4 of which are 20,000 sq ft+. I'd also hesitate to suggest that Axiom are much likely to shout about the bigger units as they are the ones that will release the funding. It's likely that the 5 will come from a combination of these.
70% is 388,848 sqft, so if we say we're at 300,000 now with these (nearly 55% was the statement), it only means we need 88k sqft, which is probably in reality only around 6-10 more of these units from the above, assuming they are part of those 16 bigger units. Around 29 of the units actually probably only account for around 55k of total floorspace.
Also bear in mind of those 60 units, 1 is a garden centre and 7 are catering, which means there are only really 52 retail units and we have 9 of these now.
On another note it's great we are talking about its closeness to being started rather than the nightmare that might not happen. I don't want millions of debt to the council and we might just get lucky.
