No buzz here until I am walking into the stadium.
Sorry guys, just an old synic.
Yeah I'm not getting too excited yet either and I always say that I'll believe it when I'm in it.

As for the name, I don't mind it but they could call it whatever they like for me.

Fantastic, positive news that we have been waiting for. Hope I'm still around 2021 to see it come to fruition.

Brilliant news and a great video. I wasn't aware that Boots had also signed up to the deal. The wheels are turning.

News is news i suppose.

I remain sceptical. As with many others i will believe it when I'm sipping on my first pint in the new ground. Hope it all comes together.

And at least some more info now:

Q3/Q4 2019 – Q1 2021
Stadium construction and handover ready for 2021 Super League season.

HUDD
Is this you conceding on the 2020 as you seem to have moved back 1 year at this stage?

I go along with what’s said publicly Robbo. It says the handover will take place ready for the start of the 2021 season. My understanding from the club is that if it’s built mid season they will operate out the new stadium and use it for offices/off field and admin, and move the playing side the following season in order to give the old girl the proper send off it deserves. So 2020 is still viable, Robbo. But Q1 2021 it says here is the end date so let’s go with that as the worst case (at the mo)

Interesting that in the new WMDC Castleford Masterplan that WR has once again been earmarked for housing development.

To me that looks like a promotional video put out by a developer looking for key tenants. 2021 .... another setback .... hope that they can deliver bit seriously doubt it .....

Don't Cas/the Fultons own WR? How can WMDC earmark a privately owned area for housing?

That’s what Local Plans do. Councils work with landowners/ developers and ultimately can use compulsory purchase powers particularly where sites are redundant
But they may well already be in discussion with Cas

Agreed; this is not aimed at informing punters. It's as much a cause for concern as it is optimism.
