Presumably those brands that are shown in this latest video are all signed up?
If the adventure area is going to be how portrayed in the video then it looks fantastic and will draw plenty of visitors to the site from all around.

They are the confirmed brands so far, it’s all looking really good. This is the closest we have ever been to the dream. I’m sure in the coming weeks and months even more brands will commit.

There's a shop currently at Xscape that have agreed to move over to Axiom but they haven't been announced to the public yet. Also note that the only ones announced are flagships, there's quite a few signed up stores that we don't know about.

Will the extra ones take us to the 70% or is that yet to be achieved?TheSheriff wrote:There's a shop currently at Xscape that have agreed to move over to Axiom but they haven't been announced to the public yet. Re: New Ground for Cas or NOT !
it was said that quite a few were waiting for final planning permission to be signed off before committing. its been signed off now so hopefully some more will be signing leases.
i think one of the statements alluded to the fact that some were waiting on the brexit outcome before committing. would some sign up if its yes and some sign up if its no?

Re: New Ground for Cas or NOT !
The current 55% that we know of is 41/75 units (which shows how many names haven't been made public as they've only released M&S, Next, Boots, Primark, H&M, New Look, Watches of Switzerland, Mango & JD Sports), we need to get to 53 to reach funding being released...So it's close! As stated above, a bunch of retailers were waiting for final PP to pass so those final 12 should be snapped up in no time, Philip Lunn is confident of a start this year as of his last press release.mart0042 wrote:Will the extra ones take us to the 70% or is that yet to be achieved?TheSheriff wrote:There's a shop currently at Xscape that have agreed to move over to Axiom but they haven't been announced to the public yet. Re: New Ground for Cas or NOT !
Not quite correct, as you are going off numbers of units, and not actual floorspace. Remember each unit is different in size and the ones mentioned are anchor with larger floorspace.
There's only 60 units now and of those already planned originally (Boots, M&S, Primark and Next), these accounted for 206,219 sq ft out of 555,498 sqft space, or 37% circa of the floorspace.
That means only 18% of floorspace has actually been agreed up to the latest announcement with the 5 new brands, which could be just the 5 units given there are 12 that have 10,000-20,000 sqft, and 4 of which are 20,000 sq ft+. I'd also hesitate to suggest that Axiom are much likely to shout about the bigger units as they are the ones that will release the funding. It's likely that the 5 will come from a combination of these.
70% is 388,848 sqft, so if we say we're at 300,000 now with these (nearly 55% was the statement), it only means we need 88k sqft, which is probably in reality only around 6-10 more of these units from the above, assuming they are part of those 16 bigger units. Around 29 of the units actually probably only account for around 55k of total floorspace.
Also bear in mind of those 60 units, 1 is a garden centre and 7 are catering, which means there are only really 52 retail units and we have 9 of these now.

the last press release was double edged it started of by saying we will be starting this year, and further on it said hoping to start this year wish they make there minds ups.TheSheriff wrote:The current 55% that we know of is 41/75 units (which shows how many names haven't been made public as they've only released M&S, Next, Boots, Primark, H&M, New Look, Watches of Switzerland, Mango & JD Sports), we need to get to 53 to reach funding being released...So it's close! And this is why we need people to comment on things they can decipher. It's all Greek to me. ThanksHuddsTigers wrote:Not quite correct, as you are going off numbers of units, and not actual floorspace. Remember each unit is different in size and the ones mentioned are anchor with larger floorspace.

On another note it's great we are talking about its closeness to being started rather than the nightmare that might not happen. I don't want millions of debt to the council and we might just get lucky.
Re: New Ground for Cas or NOT !
not good news today boots announced profits dramatic fall, and will be closing stores and pulling out off future projects the American owned firm announced . Not sure if they can pull out off the axiom unit with them all ready signed up hope not .

Not quiet as bad as first feared
But Boots in the UK said there were no plans for major reductions, adding that it had managed to maintain its market share in the most recent quarter.
"We currently do not have a major programme envisaged, but as you'd expect, we always review under performing stores and seek out opportunities for consolidation," it said.
