That aren't messing about on the adjacent ALDI site. Been past today and the base is just about finished.
I also had a good look at the new advertising flags at the front of the site entrance for Axiom - Wakefield Council have now got their's in as well.

I think we should have a flag there with a picture of peter box's head on it, although jinj would probably prefer it on a stake. lol

Re: New Ground for Cas or NOT !
john wells gives a full page interview in league express explaining his new job with cas tigers. on the new ground he says building is due to start on the new stadium in the 3rd quarter of 2019 and we should be ready for playing there for the start of the 2021 season. on wheldon road he said he doesn't envisage it being sold as we don't need to as income streams have risen greatly. he thinks it would be a valuable training facility.

Re: New Ground for Cas or NOT !
WR will be useless as a training facility unless they make the pitch the full size.
You can't really train all week on a shorter pitch then go up to a new, full sized one and not notice the difference.
So if the money is there, what i'd expect is for them to knock the stands down and have some pitches (including an artificial one) running Princess Street to main stand way not WRE to Railway, as it is now. Then the extra land around for weight rooms etc.
That would make for a fantastic training base.

Be better off selling it on and paying the Fultons out instead of paying interest on the loan. If and when we ever get to that point.

Anyone get the feeling that we could be looking at putting the much needed "community facilities required by the Wakefield district" in at Wheldon Road in the next few years ?

I wouldn't have thought it big enough in all honesty. We do need better training facilities.Tigerade wrote:Anyone get the feeling that we could be looking at putting the much needed "community facilities required by the Wakefield district" in at Wheldon Road in the next few years ?

didn't stop for a photo but it was certainly muddy on sunday. I did notice some signs up about motorway closures in the coming weeks though. could be for the access road.

Couldn't help but think that we're like kiddies trying to make Christmas come quicker. Great Fun eh?
To finish last in the Tour de France, first you must finish.
