Although Brexit May influence banks and pension funds I do believe brexit is too easily used when things don’t your way the main thing banks and pension funds are water tight contracts with no escape clauses to loan money against, other developments like hopefully our don’t have to fund a new stadium and alter a major motorway junction and other roads the costs are rising and the income is decreasing with lateral already indebt to the tune of around £7m there must be a major doubt weather it’s economical to proceed hope Iam wrong because the club need a new ground to ensure super league status

Well, I haven't a clue on any of the 'ins and outs' of whats going on, but I'm still firmly in the camp of 'I'll believe it when I'm stood in it'

The principle of developing this site has been accepted by the local planning authority, so it is possible to switch the emphasis from retail to light industry, housing or mixed use: bit of retail, little industry and some housing. Would need some juggling but it could be done if the Council, LEP etc were supportive.

As much as Steve Gill as admittedly turned the club around, he is living in a dream world when he said we would be in a new stadium by 2020. Didn't he come out last year in an interview and say we had so many games left at WR? he strikes me as a man that will say whatever to get the fans on side short term.

Harsh on Steve. He's a man of integrity. He was around when RW made promises, so I think he'll have learned from that.

The building market is starting to turn around. It has highs as a lows, with Brexit making it harder and volatile, it may take a while longer. Until the banks give better interest then funds make ideal sense.

hope a bit of work as being done on the ground in the off season we all know its on its last legs but no reason not to have running water in all the toilets and other things that could be done and would cost little expense

Cogito ergo sum a person who has integrity does not tell lies mr gill has done so not my say so but in fact his own admission in the Indepependent 6/10/2017 I would go as far as to say he is lucky to still be in his post you cannot have a working relationship with a board of directors when you admit to lies they will never know what’s the truth or a fabrication

Except the outline planning permission and a number of confirmed retailers.

People need to be patient - I appreciate it's hard but they don't just get built overnight.

A number of times we've said on this thread that the plan is to start in the Spring on the site and the first part is the highways, infrastructure and groundworks.

Completely wrong. SG has continuously said he will NOT put out news to appease the fans. The club is reliant on Lateral and the people involved to dictate when things should be released, and the club will only release news when there is news.

There was an update nothing more than a month or so ago in League Express which clearly stated that the financial backer had pulled out but a new one had been agreed and put in place.

It also said there were a number of new retailers to be announced and that the electric pylons had moved.

The club is in catch 22. They say we're moving in by X and people get upset when things are missed. They hold back and don't release information, they get told they aren't getting any news.

There is an outstanding pending application for the car garage, which is still awaiting the Planning and Highways Commission to determine. The council have just had a break for Christmas. It is now overdue.

There was an interview with him on Look North i believe, where he clearly said we will be in a new stadium by 2020 and that we only have a matter of so many games left to play at WR? either he's a confident man and knows something we don't or he's telling the fans what they want to hear!

There was an interview with him on Look North i believe, where he clearly said we will be in a new stadium by 2020 and that we have 30/40 games left to play at WR? This was March last year, so thats at least 15/20 already played. Either he's a confident man and knows something we don't or he's telling the fans what they want to hear!

I haven’t taken too much interest in the new ground scheme , as I don’t really wish to move away from Wheldon Road , but I do believe if SG has stated they hope to be in the stadium for 2020 that’s what the developers have told him, and he is only relaying the information he is given. But to say he’s lied is out of order.
