There are 2 types of suspension associated with incidents like this:Lofthouse Tiger wrote:Hudds. Do you think ZH is being paid his full salary still? Is he "Suspended on full pay" as the saying often goes?
If he is then are we within our rights to claim tbis back once he is banned?
If he has "Failed" 2 tests then why would or should we pay him anything?
Just asking the questoons.
- Investigatory suspension. This removes the individual from the workplace while the investigatory process takes place. However long this lasts (until a final outcome is decided) the individual receives full pay (as it's not a form of disciplinary action - innocent until proven guilty etc)
- Disciplinary suspension. This can be administered when the investigation is completed and it's been decided that the individual has committed an act that puts them in breach of their contract or the terms and conditions of employment. For the term of the suspension the individual is unpaid. It's one of several options available to the employer (the club). Other options include dismissal, a fine, demotion (not applicable here) or a combination of these.
In simple terms, he remains on full whack until the club receive notice of his ban (as expected) and then decide what action to take against him.
For what it's worth, my view his he should be sacked and we move on. Anything else is too messy. Like Rangi before him, he's had more than enough chances and support and he abused that. He lost us a grand final. I have no sympathy whatsoever.
