DP has been quoted as saying Ellis will partner Gale? I thought that meant Ellis would partner Gale?

If this is the case what about Roberts? Far better than Ellis.

Welcome back on-board, Jamie looking forward to seeing you rip it up next season.
Are the internet coaches you refer to as bad as the internet coaches that say "Cant wait to see you rip it up next season" then?
Far from it, I like to call myself a fan who trusts in our coach and wants Jamie Ellis to be successful in a Cas shirt. Its called being positive.

if ellis is to be a regular starter then as a team we will be much weaker imo.he is not in Roberts league and Roberts is not in hardakers league at fullback.you can say all you want about wait and see who we get but on the evidence provided so far then we are not even standing still.

Moley you are a Muppet pal, people are allowed an opinion when we have replaced Zak hardaker with Jamie Ellis , hardly set the world alight has he and we have just finished 12 points clear of super league! Jamie Ellis was average last time and he's average now. Whether Powell can transform him, that's the only debate to be had

didn't say that did I?if you want to argue we are improving our squad or even staying still then be my guest but you will sound delusional imo.

Did you read the full article?

He said Ellis will provide great competition in the halves alongside Benny and Gale.IMO it will be the exact same situation as the start of the season, Roberts and Gale in the halves and Jamie either as back up or used from the bench. Just like Rangi was.

Everyone as there own opinion.
Some are positive some are negative, doesn’t matter which one it is.....it’s there opinion and we should respect that, right or wrong.

I’m sure there’s more to come in, let’s hope they make us go WOW.
Only time will tell.
My only gripe with Ellis is the 3yrs we’ve given him.

Your right mate people can come on here and happy clap all they want if we line up roberts at 1 ellis at 6 thats a hell of a lot weaker than hardaker at 1 roberts at 6 imo

Without meaning to be negative... this is a poor signing for me, not good enough for us 3 yrs ago, and clearly not very good at Huddersfield or they wouldn't have off loaded him on loan when they were struggling in the halves.
Mystified by the signing and length of it, still feel we need 2 big props, and a full back.

Why is it? Roberts is awesome in defence - one of the best defensive half backs in the comp. Arguably better passing game and footwork in attack. And as a half he’s got to be good at communicating and organisation.

Only area he’s questionable is catching the ball but that goes for most of our backline.

I think we all have to realise Hardaker is the best out and out full back we will get. It is not Daryl Powell or Steve Gill who has f***ed us over it is ZH. One month ago we had the best English full back for 3 years. Now we don't, but if you find a available fullback of zaks quality for less than what we paid for him then you need to be in the industry. As Ellis has quoted Powell was speaking to him mid season, before any of this happened with Zak. Which could suggest he is competition for Roberts and Gale like Rangi was.

Only one bloke to point the finger at. ZH.

To suggest Ellis and gale in the halves and Benny at full back is equal to last season is simply delusional imo

Suggestions for full back that are:

Realistic
Same ability as ZH
Same cost
Availability

Not just catching, there is a more important aspect to being a full back and that’s positional play.
Fullbacks have to be able to read the game, that can’t always be taught, it’s a natural talent, instinct.
Me personally, I hope DP is in oz to look at full backs with that natural talent as a full back.

FFS unless we bring in billy slater we are going to be weaker than 2017. Zak is the best FB in super league bar none. Simple as.

So get used to that fact now.

Lets hope we get 2 quality props.
