Was thinking the same. Then there's the Aston / Powell connection, them both playing together at Sheffield and their careers going on similar lines.

Think it makes sense. Sheffield will get a lot out of it, but then so should we.

Can't think of another PNG player ever playing for Cas so assuming he is the first.

I've convinced myself, looking back to the 50's/early 60's that we had a Tongan!
Any other oldies confirm that, or otherwise I've dreamed it.

Think it might be Peni Latu who played 1 game in the late 1950s. It's a little before my time so not 100% but I have heard the tale before.

No Halafifi in the historical list of players. Obviously a dream!

Yes, of course you are right. Johnny Halafihi was the boxer. But I thought I remembered Halafihi (maybe his brother?) playing for Cas. But I'm getting old and my memory is obviously not what it was!

my memory obviously isn't what it was as well but I remember the house they stayed in was on the corner of beancroft road and roundhill road. It was a big house and I think the managers name was some thing like bert corris

Corris lived round about there. One of the girls in the family, Isabel, was at Cas grammar in the 60's.
I was sure Halafihi played for Cas, but he's not listed. It may be that as kids there were stories about him around the town and I put 2 and 2 together, assumed he'd played, but he clearly didn't. Back in those days, a Tongan/Fijian (?) boxer around Cas would have attracted some curiosity. We were easily impressed in the 50's!
