Re: Squad for Hull
Not sure if Fitzsimmons is even eligible after playing for Workington after the cut-off date?
Looks a pretty straightforward choice for me and I think this is Powell actually playing people against each other for places in the final team. Shame Patrick isn't fit again it seems as it would have been good to see him vs Foster for a place in the side too.
Hitchcox v Minikin
Springer v Lynch
Anyhoo, team:
Eden
Hitchcox
Webster
Minikin
Monaghan
Trueman
Roberts
Lynch
McShane
JSL
McMeeken
Foster
Springer
Cook
Maher
Larroyer
T Holmes
Fitzsimmons and Egodo 18th/19th men.

Re: Squad for Hull
Don't wanna say this but we've just handed hull 2 points on a plate.
Re: Squad for Hull
Don't think Webster will play personally.i don't know ocl we did it v saints with a depleted squad plus this will be a nervous hull who providing saints beat salford will HAVE to win to get in the four as Wigan play Saturday.im really looking forward to how we get on.either way it's all about the semi and whoever we play won't stop us getting to old Trafford

Possibly but these players will be hungry and determined to prove a point and we still have some experienced and key players in there too.old cas lass wrote:Don't wanna say this but we've just handed hull 2 points on a plate.
Also, it sticks two fingers up at Wigan after all their criticism this year. Means if Saints win they need to win by a cricket score to stand a chance of getting in top 4. This amuses me more. Well played DP, well played.

Re: Squad for Hull
Also, as an aside, Lynch to captain the team on what could be his final home game? Don't think he'll make it into our 17 for the semis now barring injuries.

Re: Squad for Hull
No Moors either, which is worrying as he was in need of a game. I can understand resting some, although Ollie and Adam Milner are injures, which is a shame as Ollie in particular need a game. However I would have though two that needed a rest were JSL and McShane, as neither have hardly missed all year, and also we would not possibly want anything to happen to Mac, given the situation with Galey.HuddsTigers wrote:18. Re: Squad for Hull
His Maheer and Fitzsimmons actually available, haven't they been playing on loan at Batley and Workington respectively after the cut off point?

Think junior will be having a good two weeks training under his belt ready for the semi.Herbert Latch wrote:No Moors either, which is worrying as he was in need of a game. Re: Squad for Hull
Didn't think we'd beat Sts when the England boys were rested & didn't expect us to win last Sunday (the bookies were giving us 8pts start) but we did & so whilst not confident I'm not writing us off. Rather use some motivated fringe players than risk our best players who may be carrying knocks. Hopefully whoever plays can knock seven bells out of the opposition in preparation for next week.

Re: Squad for Hull
Let's just see how these lads go.i watched a hkr team missing 11 first teamers narrowly go down to a Catalans team desperate for the points last week when they had nothing to play for.
our lads have plenty to play for especially the likes of lynch, springer, foster, cook who could well be playing for 2 places next week. Winning breeds confidence and it's also a habit, keep it close and hull might just go into there shell like they did last week making unforced errors. We've earned the right to rest a few let's get down the lane and get behind the lads that do pull on the shirts and who knows with any darryl Powell coached team ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE.

Re: Squad for Hull
My worry now is we could be going into a major semi final on a big loss.
Also in his interview daryll said moors wouldn't have played anyhow, so does that mean he's still injured or he just wouldn't have played him.
Another thing, Eden at full back and with out Shenton and hardaker, I can't see him scoring the tries he needs to, to break the record we all want him to break.
Bit of a negative I know.
So on the positive side, the Wigan fans are in melt down and wane will be stamping his feel like a spoilt 3 yr old.

Re: Squad for Hull
Brandon Douglas was made unavailable when signed for Fax or he would have played. So the other two obviously eligible to play. Jsl and Macca won't want a rest, not missed a game and will want to keep that record going. As jsl said at the start of the year, he's here to play rugby not sit in the stands.
Re: Squad for Hull
Would like to see Egodo get a game. Maybe over Webster.
