Sky Games - Note to Forum Users
Just to let all of you know that the last 3 rounds of the Super 8s are still subject to potential change.
The anticipated dates that games will be picked are:
Round 5 - Later this week
Round 6 - w/c Sept 4th
Final Round - w/c Sept 11th
Looking at the fixtures, I've got a feeling our game v Wigan may be affected - here's what I think games will be:
Round 5
Wakefield v Saints
Hull v Wigan
Round 6
Hull v Wakefield
Wigan v Cas
Round 7
Wakefield v Wigan
Salford v Saints
I sincerely hope they don't pick us for our home games v Leeds and Hull as they're certain to be near capacity affairs I'd have thought.

Re: Sky Games - Note to Forum Users
I don't think they will be close to capacity. Can't see Leeds or Hull bringing many. Maybe Hull if they have something to play for.
You would think sky games will be between Saints, Wigan, Wakefield and maybe Salford if they win next week.

Re: Sky Games - Note to Forum Users
when on sky most match attendances I estimate are down over a thousand , as for Leeds and Hull these two teams provide some of our best away support viewing CAS as a local derby , I hope we are not televised I love it with a big crowd at Weldon RD

The Hull game will maybe be busy just for the chance to get a semi final ticket. If I didnt have a season ticket I wouldnt wait for general sale......even if I couldnt/wasnt going to the Hull game.

With one trophy in the cabinet and another highly probable if we cannot fill the old girl with home fans now
Sky or no Sky we never will.
Sky pay the cash so they call the tune.
As l cannot get to every game Sky minus commentary is a good alternative
If l do go and the match is on Sky it gives me opportunity to see more closely what happens and this season to savour the sheer Class already in double figures for last weeks game.

wigan athletic are at home on the Saturday and they are reluctant nowadays to let the pies play on previous days due to the pitch.HuddsTigers wrote:Just to let all of you know that the last 3 rounds of the Super 8s are still subject to potential change.

HIP HIP HOORAH, a Sunday match over in Lancashire one we will be going to , I don't do the M62 midweek , if they can play the under 19 final before the first team game on the same pitch how good would that be, but being a soccer ground I cant see them allowing two games to be played on it, the mighty WIGAN are only second class to the soccer club , I bet many times their rugby supporters wish they were back at Central Park,
Re: Sky Games - Note to Forum Users
I wonder where the 1300 fans would have gone had we been in the new ground.
We really must push for a 15k capacity.
We will add 10% just by having modern ,clean facilities.
So much easier to get this right at the planning stage.
There are loads of untapped areas to the north that we are not reaching. Word is spreading about our prowess on the field and if we can back it up with facilities fit for 2020 then we can generate some revenue.
Selling 10 boxes at 100k for a 10 year lease would put a million in the pot. Naming rights could generate a similar amount.
We must think big.

Re: Sky Games - Note to Forum Users
Yes of course its not gone to final planning yet.
We need to throw some cash at it but far easier to construct at point of build ( which maybe still 18 months away) allowing for 2018 to see coal come out and land works start.
10 is simply too small for us and to attract big events.
Clearly this is just my opinion.

Re: Sky Games - Note to Forum Users
The ground wont be changed once its built the idea of filling corners in or adding to capacity after its built is a non starter it would cost the club a fortune so i agree get it right before its built extra 2 or 3 thousand capacity would be ideal just dont see it happening

Re: Sky Games - Note to Forum Users
The same £2million deal that the council are offering Wakey for their ground would solve that problem.

Re: Sky Games - Note to Forum Users
Maybe selling off part of Wheldon Rd would help that cause.
Would the training field be needed. If we keep the old girl then players could train on there.
Not sure what the training field would bring money wise.

Re: Sky Games - Note to Forum Users
With building land prices being at a premium if we have the chance surely we could sell everything at WR and use some of the money for the extra seating which is a must IMO and also construct a new grassed area next to the ground for training on which shouldn't cost a fortune if done at the time of the original constructionold cas lass wrote:Maybe selling off part of Wheldon Rd would help that cause.

Re: Sky Games - Note to Forum Users
All good ideas..........I would certainly sell WR to pay back the Fultons as we cannot afford to keep paying out large amounts on interest.
Good times are here now but the foundations must be laid to ensure we never get ourselves in the situation we were in before.
It essential blocks are laid to maintain the fabric of the club.

Were the monies owed to the Fultons not transferred in to shares instead if paying them back Robbo?
