Terry Richardson also had a great turn of pace, I remember him getting hat trick v Bradford and winning the game for us. He maybe would have broken club try scoring record had he stayed at the club, I think he scored 28 in his last season with us, back when record was around 30.SuffolkTiger wrote:Agree with this.Herbert Latch wrote:Even though we have got good cover for Greg, I personally think we will miss him, and not so much for his finishing. I know he can be prone to the odd dropped high ball here and there, but it is at our own end and half of the field where we will miss him. What he has been particularly adept at, is making good yards with an ensuing quick play of the ball, to get us moving and on the front foot. Turning defence into attack in a quick manner. It has been one of the reasons why we have been suddenly able to strike out of the blue. Also we have lost a major instrument in our ability to suddenly go the length of the field, eg's at Wakey last week and the full length disallowed try at the Magic Weekend, which for me should have stood.
Other sides fear GE's raw pace and I think it's important that the opposition know that we have a player who can burn the length of the pitch from our own line if they give him half a chance.
In my time watching Cas we've not had many who could do that - Fenton, Singe, he who shall remain nameless....
I haven't seen Jy in a foot race from deep - has he got that in him?
DP will be all over it so lets see what pans out

Some real speedsters named there!. Kind of highlights the lack of pace Joel has currently, but is safer under the high ball than the other options?

Re: INJURY UPDATE
think we'll have to wait until he's seen the surgeon. I'm sure I can remember shenny dislocating his and being back after 2 weeks. saw a tweet from adz too saying he was gutted to miss the game but was hoping it would only be a couple of weeks.

Great news for Castleford Tigers fans as assistant coach Danny Orr tells BBC Radio Leeds winger Greg Eden could play again this season despite initial fears over shoulder injury suffered in win over Salford.

Just seen the interview, sounds very promising.yorky wrote:Great news for Castleford Tigers fans as assistant coach Danny Orr tells BBC Radio Leeds winger Greg Eden could play again this season despite initial fears over shoulder injury suffered in win over Salford.
Sees a specialist on Saturday morning, I suppose for the scan results.
Let's hope it's all good.
Danny Orr sounded positive.

Re: INJURY UPDATE
shenny said last night that he's had scan but won't see surgeon until Saturday morning as he's out of the country. physio has seen scans and although its not as bad as first thought it could still be a long job. hope not.

Re: INJURY UPDATE
Doesn't matter about super 8s too much now. If he's back for play offs that will do me. Him and Shenton are great together on the left.old cas lass wrote:Just seen the interview, sounds very promising.yorky wrote:Great news for Castleford Tigers fans as assistant coach Danny Orr tells BBC Radio Leeds winger Greg Eden could play again this season despite initial fears over shoulder injury suffered in win over Salford.
