Solomona settlement
Re: Solomona settlement
Been in the high court and luckily we won ...........but at this stage significant costs will have arisen.
The bundles will have been exchanged and then the other side can see the case.
Unless we have dropped a major clanger I cannot see that CAS are wrong and now just have to agree a figure.
There maybe a NDA attached so we may not get to know. Not sure where it will show in the accounts but unless they cannot tell us we should get to know.

Truth is always best !
Re: Solomona settlement
It's not a done deal yet. if an agreement can't be reached which satisfies cas we can still go through the court.
It does look as though either the legal team for sale have realised that Cas have a valid case and unless settled outside of the court room sale could be left with a hefty compensation bill our legal cost etc and a reputation in tatters

I'll be surprised if there isn't an NDA in which case we will never know the terms

Re: Solomona settlement
I hope there is a NDA in place that's legally binding to both sides. With Sale having Steve Diamond and his big gob, we'll end up with a 2nd payment not long afterwardsI'll be surprised if there isn't an NDA in which case we will never know the terms

Defo agree with this.or put to one side for a big signing next seasonHuddsTigers wrote:I would use it to strengthen our squad for a top 4 push. Another replacement winger will do me. Rest of the money can go into the business.Normy-Tiger wrote:I would use it to help pay the Fultons back. I just hope we find out exactly what we are getting. We wanted 500k but I doubt it will be that. Has to be close.

Non Disclosure Agreement - where not discussing the settlement is legally binding on both parties.
Re: Solomona settlement
If he is the talk of that other game and is expected to get international honours surely the price of him as got to be more than before. (Not sure of all the ins and outs of the laws)

Re: Solomona settlement
Possibly but after week 1 I see enough in our wingers to know they will go well. Scoring 3 tries and could have easily been 5 if Eden held on to the ball at end and if Gale didnt beat him to the bouncing ball.HuddsTigers wrote:I would use it to strengthen our squad for a top 4 push. Re: Solomona settlement
Right just a couple of quieries.
This so called out of court settlement, is this with Steve diamond and sale.
If so does that mean Andy Clarke and Solomona get away scot free.
Clarke is the one imo who Cas should go after.
He was the instigator in all this.
Would love to see Clarke and Solomona in the dock.
I know that won't happen, but I believe they have a lot to answer to.
Makes my blood boil to think they as individuals walk away scot free.

A lot of supposition going on here. Nobody confirmed yet that an out of court settlement is pending, just an opening of the discussions. We still need to proceed with caution.

Looks like Gob Sh**e Diamond might be having a bad week.
He has just been banned for 6 week's and fined £3,000.
Ideal outcome :- Cas's claim paid in full
DS to pay his own legal fee's
Clarke's licence withdrawn but RFL
Diamond sacked

Re: Solomona settlement
Don't forget that if we do get any cash settlement a fair chunk of it will be given to the Loiners for Zac and he won't come cheap.
Re: Solomona settlement
Bad move for RL in general if we settle this out of court. There would be nothing to stop another RU club doing the same thing. I was hoping we would win the case and set a precedent.
Re: Solomona settlement
We are a small club with limited resources - if this runs to trial, litigation costs would be huge. Let someone else fight that battle.Exiled wrote:Bad move for RL in general if we settle this out of court. There would be nothing to stop another RU club doing the same thing. It should be the rl to sort out any cross code issues
