It should be a good run out for the lads,I believe the game is to be 3 X 25 minutes. Giving our 19s chance to rotate and try out some different combinations. Not sure on the strength of the lane side either but it should blow a few cob webs off.

Decent crowd at Lock lane a mixture of under 16 and 19s saw Cas win 18-6 enjoyed the game and it will have done no harm to lock lanes finances

No u16s played, you might be getting confused that a number of last years u16s played but they are now full time with the u19s, a good physical workout which was just what was needed and a real confidence boost for the young lads. Lock lane were very good too. Overall it was a well contested game between two very committed sides.

Does this happen across the board for pro rugby teams? Something should be done about it if so.

Yes it's the norm to leave the u16s and those offered contracts move into the u19s. My lads one of those and tbh he's more than ready for u19s rugby both mentally and physically, today playing against men for the first time is a big ask but he and the other first year 19s more than acquitted themselves well against tough opposition. More importantly he enjoyed the experience,it's been a 6 month pre season for them.these arnt kids off the street they are hand picked and the best of there age in the business.fenton wrote:Its wrong and a little bit scary that kids are expected to jump from u16 to u19 in ny opinion.braytontiger wrote:gateman wrote:Decent crowd at Lock lane a mixture of under 16 and 19s saw Cas win 18-6 enjoyed the game and it will have done no harm to lock lanes finances
