What an end to the season!!!!

Post by TT Tiger » 25 Sep 2016, 17:47

3 top 5 finish in 3 years. Denny record try scorer. And what a way to send off Luke Dorn. Just wish I could have been there. What a season people slated the squad at the start of the season saying we need to strengthen Th starting 17. But with out this squad I don't think we would have, finished 5th got Denny so many try's and finally given Luke Dorn the send off he deserves. Well done to all at Cas Tigers for such a great season.

To cap dornys final chapter off as a cas player he also got the first try.
You couldnt have wrote that.
Also joint MOM with solomona.

Not the best game, but hey 2 points collected, finished 5th with half a team for most of the season.

Rest up lads cos we go again in a couple of months.
You've earned it.

Hopefully we have fewer injuries next year, tighten up the defence, and mount a real fight for some silverware. The club needs to show prospective (and current) talent they're the real deal if they want to stay with the big clubs.

5th is an amazing achievement given how injury hit Cas have been. Let's kick on next year and crack that top 4.

Matt Cook also avoids the naked run, looks like Nathan Massey is all on his own.

Big raps to all the players, coaching staff and backroom members who do alot of unseen work

We certainly need to tighten up our D but nobody will be thinking "Cas next week - thats 2pts"

A few bits to tie up recruitment wise
Defence a key area
I'd also bring in someone to look at psychology - mental strength could get you those wins in games that are nip n tuck.

The adversity we've endured this year will put us in a better place next season and hopefully alot of selection headaches for DP

Nice words from Wellsy at the end - top man

I think the icing on the cake would be movement on the new ground before the end of the year as promised.

Totally agree, until my son signed for the club I never realised just how many people and roles we have to put a team out on a Sunday.. Don't worry about us getting a psychologist on board we already have them. Like 2014 where close to doing something special a couple of quality signings and we will go close. Oh nearly forgot to break the top it's easy we don't need to improve we just need to learn how to beat St. Helens and it will happen

There was a Widnes fan dressed up like a cheerleader, pom poms and massive bazookas that was dancing in front of the main stand during the game after we scored. Not sure if it was the same chap.

There is movement - look on the planning portal. Another application gone into discharge some more conditions.

You will see more movement providing WMDC allow a change in the original consent to remove the supermarket element and switch to retail elements again. Once this is approved you will see the rest go in.

Phase 1 and 2 (landscaping and the nature reserve elements) are due to begin in Autumn. Stadium (phase 3) will begin next year, with phase 4 (retail) beginning probably late 2017 into 2018.

I would envisage based on current timescales, the stadium and us to be in it mid-2018. Built by beginning of 2018 but then we have to move everything across and decorate everything up etc.

I go up the slip road to get on m62 every Friday about 4pm.
There's defiantly work going on.
This Friday gone, there were lots of railing like fencing, not sure what it's for.
It's a biggish area, close to stainburn. Nothing going on closer to spiral hardwick.

Agree with the OP. Another good year for the Tigers and we are going in the right direction. Steady progression and we look like winning something in the near future. If the stars align - moving to the new stadium might just coincide with a visit to Old Trafford and/or Wembley.
