Re: Gale - broken jaw?
If gale had a broken jaw then yes it will have been Westwood. We didn't even get a penalty after he put it on report.????????????

WARRINGTON referee association member Phil Bentham rules that one.chesterfieldtiger wrote:If gale had a broken jaw then yes it will have been Westwood. We didn't even get a penalty after he put it on report.????????????
Clear instructed play, Warrington attack other teams HBs off the ball more than any other team - Cas could be down their play maker for the season and the RFL will give Westwood a week off if that.
Re: Gale - broken jaw?
I find it puzzling that 7000 people saw this cowardly attack yet 6 officials didn't. If this match had been on Sky then the forth official would had told Bentham to send Him off. Westwood should cop a long ban wether Gales jaw is broken or not we don't need this type of cowardly play in Rugby league.

Re: Gale - broken jaw?
But that won't happen will it?We know the cards we are dealt before we take the field,if it had been Mr Carney that would be season done. The clues in the name BENTham.
Re: Gale - broken jaw?
Easy job for Warrington, stop Luke Gale playing and they stop us playing, not only that, their chances of overtaking us in the Super 8s are much enhanced without us having the services of our most influencial player. Our game went to pieces after that incident, as even though Luke stayed on the pitch for a while, he wasn't the Luke Gale we've come to know!
Tigers head coach Daryl Powell has slammed the referree's following the late challenge on Gale:
"I think it was really poor from the men in the middle of the field officiating the game because how you can miss that when you have 5 people out there, I just can’t quite see. that was a disgraceful tackle and Luke is in hospital right now."
Well said Daryl, hope you don't have to pay for telling the truth!
How on earth can the RFL allow Warrington's hometown referee to take charge of this game?

Bentham is from Leigh not Warrington
Bit like Thaler refereeing the same game and us complaining he's from Cas.

Re: Gale - broken jaw?
Our record under BENTham is appalling, never seem capable of a win when he takes charge. It shows what a sorry state the officiating in our game is when this biased clown is rated the best.
Re: Gale - broken jaw?
He lives in Glazebury on the border of Leigh and Warrington, was born in Leigh, and supports Leigh. There is no Warrington bias with him. Trust me.

Re: Gale - broken jaw?
I didn't see it as I followed the ball but saw Westwood closing in on Gayle so I assume he hit him very late and high. If so as it was our first meaningful attack then it's pre meditated and obviously something Tony Smith has told him to do.
If this was in Australia I would expect to see a 10 game ban for Westwood (based on my assumption he hit him very late/ very high). It has to be here as well as a deterrent. We don't pay or money Mr Smith, to see violence like this we pay our money to be entertained.
By the way, Warringtons wrestling was amazing four men slowing down every tackle and our boys always getting up to play the ball from their backs and facing our posts - not that pretty to watch though. I did see a brilliant performance from Myler today real class, although we now know how to stop him by taking a leaf out of Westwoods book (what's Beefy England doing nowadays ?). I'm sure our boys put the effort in but it seems the teams brains belong to one player.
One plus point was Springer who seemed very eager to tackle Ashton Simms which was unfortunately regularly. Oh also Simms should Westwood how to conduct himself properly on a Rugby pitch.
I have a very sour taste after this.

Re: Gale - broken jaw?
Did you notice Webster getting obstructed every time he was running for the ball towards the try line. Every time ! Also Carney having to pull players off our tackled player so that we could try to get a quicker play of the ball.

Re: Gale - broken jaw?
Westwood has some previous when it comes to opposition halfbacks. If the RFL fail to ban him then do what they do and make their half backs very nervous when they visit again in the Super 8's...oh and lay on in the tackle like they did too!
Re: Gale - broken jaw?
Best wishes to LG, but further emphasises how badly we need another quality half. When we lose Gale, we lose our way totally.

Re: Gale - broken jaw?
in the time that gale was still on the pitch after the incident the physio came on to have a look at him near where we were. it seemed to be his cheekbone that they were concerned about.
