New ground
Re: New ground
I reckon midway through 2017 season
Re: New ground
Two years from now would be possible but Iif i was a gambling man i'd say the start of the 2018 season would be likely from here. There's always a little delay somewhere along the line.

If the £6m figure is accurate, that's between 25-30k tonnes of coal to be removed based on current prices.
Re: New ground
No doubt there will be a few twists and turns on the way but as long as it's happening I'm happy with another couple of years at the old girl yet

Re: New ground
I'd prefer us to finish a season darn't lane to be honest. The old girl deserves a proper send off.

Agree. Hopefully the last game will be v Leeds to guarantee a full housesteadygetyerboots-on wrote:I'd prefer us to finish a season darn't lane to be honest. The old girl deserves a proper send off.

Re: New ground
My thoughts too, in an ideal world that would be the case, but as soon as the new facility is operational surly the club would be best served maximising its potential and making the move as soon as possible, long way before any of that comes to fruition, but at least we're on our way, exciting times ahead, something we've deserved as a club for a long long time.steadygetyerboots-on wrote:I'd prefer us to finish a season darn't lane to be honest. If we couldn't get a full house for the final game at Wheldon Road vs anyone I'd be surprised.Fumper27 wrote:Agree. Re: New ground
Think I would rather have Catalans than Leeds. A lot of the Cas followers that went to Wembley would want to be at the last game, as well as fans of other clubs. Would prefer that to load of Whinos.
And, the followers might turn at up the first game at the new stadium and start to be regulars again.

Re: New ground
The last ever game would be pretty nice if it was something like Cas legends vs Rest of the world or probably better: Castleford vs the touring nation that season.

Re: New ground
Lateral MD Philip Lunn will address the crowd tomorrow at half-time.
In the spirit of the final Blackadder episode - Goooodbyeee!
Re: New ground
I think this is great news for Cas Tigers
There is however a few concerns :
Wakefield need to give the full planning this should be a given with government passing planning back.
lateral group are they big enough to carry off a development of this size, if you look at laterals web site they have not done anything on this scale before they seem to focus on supermarkets, restaurants etc..
My biggest concern in all this is the funding who in there right mind would provide 90 million plus to build the site and then give away a 10 million pound stadium with feet on the ground we live in castleford not London, Leeds or a big city you can only demand a certain rent value.
For me the detail seems to be missing! maybe Philip from lateral can fill us in at the half time address!!!

I expect it'll be a 'feel good' sort of affair where we're supposed to celebrate.
I remain, as ever, a pessimist - I'll believe it when I'm stood in the stands of the new ground.

Re: New ground
I think we can expect a fair few negative posts regarding from this new member. A disgruntled Wakefield fan in disguise perhaps?Muktiger wrote:I think this is great news for Cas Tigers

Re: New ground
I don't feel this is the Wakey scenario all over again here. It feels right and I do believe this will happen. The running of our club is second to none at the moment and I doubt they will make such level of mistakes Wakefield did.
We are riding high right now and everyone at the club deserve a huge pat on their back.
