Re: James Webster
The man is a machine! The amount of knocks and injuries he carries through games and his desire just pushes him through. Definitely another deal.

Re: James Webster
and yet on other threads posters are saying let him go. the man is pure quality and typifies the team spirit.

Jake has been excellent for the last four games and lo and behold Cas have won them! If Jake remains fit he is without doubt one of the best centres in SL.
DP will have to decide if Jake will play enough games next season to warrant a new contract.
Hopefully he will remain fit for the rest of the season (13 games including the grand final!)

Re: James Webster
i wonder if how he has dragged himself up from what seemed like game ending injuries in recent games was because he was trying to prove he is worth another contract. i'm sure DP will have seen enough.

Re: James Webster
I am hoping he has one more season left in him. Was my MOM tonight
Re: James Webster
He had a great game, was unplayable. We have some serious strike players out wide now. Phil clarke said we have arguably the best 2 finishers in the league playing on the wing. When you add shenny and when hes playing like this webster that combination will take some stopping

Re: James Webster
He is immense. He must be held together with strong tape! His game is all about commitment with no regard for safety of his body. I hope he gets another year in his current form.

Re: James Webster
Watching him recently I think he has either already decided or agreed to finish at the end of the season, or Cas have yet to offer anything.
I don't think from here it is easy for any of us to award a contract or release. It depends how much management and how close every week he is to full training, not playing, whatever it is.
This Jake, you sign all day and all night, that much is obvious.

What i am hearing is that Jake Webster is on his way out of Castleford at the end of season possible move to Salford, hope not he is playing better now than ever.
Re: James Webster
Reminds me of Danny Orr's last season - knew he wouldn't be playing next year and so put absolutely everything into each and every game.

Re: James Webster
I'd hope we give him another year - been awesome of late
In any case why would he want to sign for Salford - they don't pay their players do they?

Re: Jake Webster
If we'd have been talking about this last year we'd have been looking at replacing him then, prior to the wigan quarter final. He was bashed up when he signed for us and has spent about a full season out injured (or thereabouts) in his last 2 and a half years.
I've said before, that if he's injury free then he's a starting centre and unstoppable. But he seems only moments away from a season ending injury. In the last few matches he's holding one part of his body or another and I keep thinking is this the moment its over.......................and then he pulls another amazing tackle or play out from nowhere.
The mans a machine, but they eventually break and you move on with a new version.

Fingers crossed there's an acceptable offer on the table for Jake

Re: Jake Webster
I am really hoping that a deal can be sorted out. He's been awesome so far this year, and would be a great mentor for Crooks (and Minikin if confirmed).Fumper27 wrote:Fingers crossed there's an acceptable offer on the table for Jake
