Ryan Bailey - EGP

Post by Danny Boy » 26 May 2015, 13:29

I was surprised at the EGP as I though Ryan was injured and one EGP a season was allowed?

Ryan Bailey Striking in the 19th minute (Ferres)
Rule – 15.1(a) Detail – Strikes – Punching – one on one minor Grade – A
Range of Recommended Sanctions in relation to Charged Grade*
NFA-1. Early Guilty Plea offered and accepted. NFA

Also thought Ferres got away with murder in the game!

I thought Ferres was supposed to be out for 3 months? Obviously it was a blag so Rangi would get a longer ban.

I am a very subdued person, but the smug look on Ferres' face after Ryan B pushed it was enough to want to make a saint slug him one. That smirk was sickly.

Ferres was a total grub. Cannonball tackles (you'd think he would be the last player to do them considering...), high shots and being generally niggly.

How he didn't get any kind of card is astounding.

That's how Bailey and Tansey got injured, two men in the tackle, and another driving their legs from under them, very similar to the Chase tackle.

I can't believe Bailey still had the option of an EGP but I'll take it.

On the subject of niggly players, I watched bits of the Leigh/Fev game at the weekend and I can see why Leigh are getting a reputation as a team hell bent on winding the opposition up. Whilst it's easy to say, the best response to this is to remain calm as it tends to wind up the wind up merchants even more , leading to them giving away penalties and getting carded.

I noticed that too FC, I'm just hoping we don't get an opportunity to witness their tactics first hand later in the year!
The pundits on Radio Leeds were slamming Leigh for their strong arm tactics last night, I reckon Leigh must have been taking lessons from Shudds and from Ferres in particular.
