He was out in Headingley last night. Having a bit of a 'heated discussion' with a couple of shady looking characters.

Should have never signed him in the first place. A real 'i hate to say i told you so' moment.

He's not played badly for us, and was adequate cover in a time when we had forwards injured/unavailable.
I wouldn't have re-signed him next year, but it's hardly anything to crow about.
Re: Ryan Bailey
I'd agree with this. I was sceptical about when we signed him but was willing to give him a chance. Some people next to me in his first game were shouting abuse before he had even came onto the field! His first drive in and people were calling him gash and saying get off the field etc. I dont think he was ever fit in his appearances for us but if he is off at the end of the year or before that it'll be a thankyou and goodbye.Squaddie86 wrote:How so?

Re: Ryan Bailey
He comes with more baggage than British Airways, it was always doomed to fail. And he has been bang average in the short minutes spells he played. Waste of a wage.Squaddie86 wrote:How so?The Firm wrote:Should have never signed him in the first place. A real 'i hate to say i told you so' moment.

Re: Ryan Bailey
I think we really dodged a bullet with Ryan Bailey. DP wanted him from the start of the season and almost got him, but for HKR to offer more money. His subsequent poor showing and release from HKR allowed DP to have a proper look at him in our environment. This hasn't worked out and the bonus was that we didn't have to sign him on a two year deal as was originally planned.

Re: Ryan Bailey
Well if RB has finished for the season, and according to this thread he has, we have definitely now lost 4 players from the squad for the rest of the season, namely Bailey, Mariano, Jewitt, Tansey, and I don't what the situation is with Wheeldon. We have still at least 10 games to play and hopefully maybe a top 4 play off. That's a lot of players to lose from your squad and if we get any injuries we maybe struggling. I think the signing deadline is on Friday. I just wonder if we have any plans to bring someone in before then?
So I said to the Taxi driver, "King Edwards Close". He replied "It's alright we'll lose him at the next set of lights".

Re: Ryan Bailey
Wheeldon was warming up with the players at Wakey and with Jewitt uninjured, I would hope to see them pushing for the team by the super 8's.
I would hope that Lee and his family are settled by then and he can come back all guns blazing!

To be honest I wouldn't expect to see Lee Jewitt back until next season. Their little ones are fighting hard but they have a long way to go still.

I hope to see Lee and all his family down the lane next season.

Re: Ryan Bailey
I hope the Jewitts little ones are in such a place that Lee can attend the last home game. Have his say on the Mic and we can show him how much we think of him!
Long live the Tigers!!!
Re: Ryan Bailey
Bailey was worth a punt but won't lose any sleep about him moving on.
It's all about teamwork at Cas and that is what Powell excels at fostering, thats the reason I wouldn't want Chase back at the risk of cross-threading posts.
As far as Jewitt goes I can only echo the sentiments already expressed - it's only sport and some things are more important. Hope it all works out for the bloke and he can smash it up next season.
