Ben Roberts

I know there are other threads about him but I thought his performance tonight warranted a new thread without the criticism he has received in the last few months. Thought he stood out tonight with some good running tackling and a few assists

Agreed! The whole team performed tonight though and I think they all deserve praise.

Played well tonight. Got himself more involved as the gamr went on. The good thing with him is there still seems to be more improving in him which will be good for us

I said last week i thought by middle of summer we wouldn't want to swop our half backs for anybody else's nothing i saw today made me change that opinion

I've said since the first game that Roberts will come into his own when the ground firms up. I hate being right. Just need Junior to hit his straps now and we've got 2 stars on our books.

Definitely - different players though for me, Gale is the main man and Roberts freed up to use his running game, etc! Which worked well today.

Was very impressed with Roberts running game. Also he must be one of the strongest defensive half backs in SL - some superb tackles today.

Hopefully (injuries permitting) we'll see Gale and Roberts continue on in the halves now, he's too good of a player to be sitting on a bench or interchanging at hooker and with more game time together we'll have a strong partnership.

Gale has been the signing of the season so far though, always liked him at Bradford and thought he'd be snapped up by a 'bigger' club when they went down.

But we have come to expect Gale to have a good game as he hit the ground running from start of season

Liam Finn is suddenly surplus to requirements.

As we cannot drop either Benny or Gale.

Rubbish, Liam Finn is not surplus to requirements at all, he's a big part of an excellent squad.
Whilst Luke Gale and Ben Roberts are doing great things at the moment, we all know that one split second can change everything, as was prefectly illustrated by Justin's injury yesterday.
A loss of form by either of our brilliant half back pairing, or even on of our two excellent hookers, could see Liam back in the 17 and it's so good to know we have Liam to call upon.
