Probably our most satisfying win. Don't get me wrong we have played better in attack against Wigan & Salford but we clawed our way back into the game midway through the 1st half. I was fearing the usual drubbing at Wire when we went 10-4 down (and suspect the Sky commentators & Warrington players thought that too), so credit to all the players today for never giving up!.

Yes some fine tuning required and hopefully the players who went off with knocks aren't too bad. But here's to our 1st away win!

What was the penalty count? I don't remember one apart from a ball steal from carney in first 5 minutes

great win, suprised me! just goes to show when you give roberts a chance,i think with finn we wouldnt of won. Got to give roberts more games at half back and he should get more confident each game.his try will boost his confidence.MARIANO DID GOOD. negatives for me are the kicking game very poor again, needs sorting out fast!

Personally thought he scored a try that all but sealed the game.

Sorry I must have watched a different game

Roberts did what he had to do so no complaints there. As for the kicking game, to say we have 2 assistant coaches who were specialist half backs and a senior coach who also played half back on occasions, it must be the worst in the league. The kicks are either too deep or straight to the defenders, it's long overdue to get this sorted.

Thought roberts offered different kicks which is more than finn does so should keep his place against hkr.

Great performance. Grit, determination and some superb tries. Up against it with players out, and in game injuries.

Impressed with all the team thought Gale (mom for me)and Milner were exceptional. The forwards all put in a hard shift and all deserve credit. I though carney and Shelton defended very well - rare for Monaghan not to score when on the wing. Tansey well taken try (had him at 18/1 for first try - paddy power obviously not realising he was going to play on the wing!) and didn't put a foot wrong except been caught for pace by Penny in first half. Channing looked solid. Great to see Frankie back and looked in very good shape indeed. Roberts solid performance and well taken try - pleasing to see.

Good solid performance with plenty of grit which was great to see. Big shout out to Milner, top stuff from him. As for the Roberts debate, nice try, odd decent kick but average overall.

Whilst I was delighted with the win too, I'm in the "don't get carried away camp". Yes we knuckled down, showed grit & toughed it out; & in addition showed some flair to create points ... but (again) the kicking game was woeful, & more significantly Wire were simply dire (there are clearly issues there that will no doubt come out in the wash). Oh, & whilst we didn't get more than our fair share, a certain Mr JC also had one of his less "anti Cas" games. Some other results from yesterday also again reiterates to me at least that things aren't always as they seem. Mmm ...

Even before yesterday's game I felt we had the personnel to finish in the top 8 this season, which I have been saying all along. Despite what many still think, I am confident we will. The big question though, is can we move up a notch to get any farther and compete for honours and on that score even I am a bit doubtful, unless we can inject some genuine quality into the side in the form of another player. I don't know whether we have any money available (eg Dixon's money) to recruit a player, but of course even if we did, there's the little matter of the suitable quality even being available. We have the work ethic, organisation, commitment, conditioning, spirit and camaraderie, we just need a bit more quality.

The two key players now are Ben Roberts and Junior Moors and if we can get these two firing to something like their best, then I am confident we can make a real fist of this season. JM has of course being playing with an injury that has restricted him, and to me it is now imperative that he is given time and rest to get him 100% fit and then firing on all cylinders. With Frankie Mariano and Lee Jewitt returning there should be now no problem on this score. He can give us something different in the forwards with his adroit offloads and skills and big presence and can make a real impact either in the starting line up or off the bench.

There has obviously been many theories put foward why BR has not yet made many appearances and an impact, and to be honest I personally have no idea. However if these are solved, he can make his presence felt with his running skills and there should be no problem with his defence, as he has always been a very good defender. The thing though, that he really excels at, is his short kicking game. If he can utilise that, like Hull did against us and make the opposition continually drop out or have to work much harder, it will give us a great platform to work from.

Super League at present is not the highest standard it's ever been, so if we can get these two playing to something like their true ability and steer clear of any mounting injuries, we can honestly make a real go of this season.
So I said to the Taxi driver, "King Edwards Close". He replied "It's alright we'll lose him at the next set of lights".

I know exactly why he hasn't been playing, he was homesick and he didn't get picked. He's fine now, and there is no truth in the rumour that he's going home at the end of the year. This is definitely correct.
