Our kicking

Post by orrsome » 28 Mar 2015, 10:55

Why is it that when we kick high the ball goes much too far and the full back has plenty of time to run the ball back, whereas when Hull kicked high, we were in all sorts of trouble as the ball came down close to our line with Hull players challenging. Our high kicks were really poor last night compared to those of Hull.

Tbf the hight of pryces bombs last night were some of the highest I've seen down the lane and the snyed kicks were decent little bombs from ten out dropping just short of the line. Where as we were putting our bombs up from 40 out and hoping they came of we did some ok kicks but never had the best pressure also think they pressured us well where as we stood back and gave them abit of time for there kicks

too much time for their full back, he never had any pressure on him from the chasers. same with tansey's drop outs, they were going straight to opposing players when there were some huge gaps to aim for.

Exactly, we tend to put bombs up from distance and don't always seem to get much height preventing chasers from getting pressure on.

We don't seem to have much time to kick either, so it becomes more difficult to be accurate in placement. The opposition pressurise the kicker but we don't seem to do the same to theirs.
