Sad to see some of the comments made about a good servant of the club whose very promising career was ruined by a stupid decision to play on an unfit pitch due to the need to keep Sky viewers happy

I agree he went through some bad patches but early this year did not let us down and was matchwinner at least once. Better cover than Channing/Gibson as well.

A combination of first team rugby for him and £££ from our perspective.

Richie got given a bumper deal - through no fault of his own - when he was younger but took up quite a bit of space on the cap that could be better utilised on the squad.

As for us, we had Carney, Dixon and Clare (who I rate better than Owen) all ahead of him in the pecking order. He would have struggled to get first-team rugby so if an opportunity arose for him to get first team rugby elsewhere, it made sense.

If we hadn't, we may not have been able to afford to bring in Jewitt or Carvell mid-season.

It's not been announced yet but, as I understand it, he will be a Wakey player next season.

No.

As I've mentioned earlier on this thread, we needed to use his wages on the cap. It made sense for all parties.

Believe it when I see it. Contracted to us for next year we finished all our business by end of season

The statement we put out in the middle of the season made it sound like he'd gone permanently. Wakefield want to keep him.

I think Solomona is his replacement
