kicking gane

Post by jackknife » 20 Sep 2014, 07:34

Our kicking game is so poor, every kick is just chipped to the full back with no pressure at all but the fact that all three of our kickers (sneyd finn n ellis) do the same thing must mean its part of the game plan.

Surely with Powell Orr n Sheridan our kicking plan should be better than this?

Must admit there wasnt much veriety on show last night. And why why why do we hardly ever find grass or turn the back three around...

Kicking it straight down the field to the most experienced player in SL (nevermind position or player on the field) was mind boggling

This is my biggest gripe at the moment and I'm amazed that it hasn't been addressed by now.

its been poor all season! i reckon with a better kicking game we would have probally finished top weeks earlier. i dont think the half backs are good enough to kick while under pressure.our half backs have been poor all season, finn is not super league material.

Agree finn is not super league standard he only seams to have the one kick - up in the air and straight to the wing / fullback and I would have preferred ellis to be back up to gale and roberts.

Our kicking game is abysmal from the first predictable kick off to the final attacking kick. Each kick is telegraphed to the opposition every time.

I agree with jackknife about our kicking game and even tho he is a fan of Finn and I think we would be better with him bk at fev.

Not the biggest fan of Finn but think hes the better out of the three at organising the forward n the direction of play, the decision has to be between Sneyd or Ellis to do the flash stuff out wide. Sneyd imo is the better of the 2 but has been playing rubbish recently so Ellis rightly got his chance but id expect Finn n Sneyd to start against warrington.

The problem we now have is the opposition know what our halfbacks will do in regards of kicks on the 4th & 5th tackles, it has become as repetitive as Dixon's kick offs.

For goodness sake mix the kicks up!

Our game plan this season has been to play deep in the opposition 20 and this required a deep kick.

It worked initially as the oppo full back was higher up the field but they have now realised if they drop back they can field the ball with plenty of space to run in. We now need to make sure we find touch or dead in goal as our chase is tiring very quickly.
