There is a diagram and explanation on here: http://www.superleague.co.uk/about_sl/t ... off_series

Let's say hypothetically, the following occurs assuming that Wire and Leeds win their ties:

Cas/Wigan win and Leeds/Wire win; round 2 fixtures of Saints v Wire and Hudds v Leeds; Wigan get clubcall of winners of those two fixtures

Cas win/Hudds win and Leeds/Wire win; round 2 fixtures of Saints v Wire and Wigan v Leeds; Hudds get clubcall of winners of those two fixtures.

Saints win/Wigan win and Leeds/Wire win; round 2 fixtures of Cas v Wire and Hudds v Leeds; Saints get clubcall of winners of those two.

Saints win/Hudds win and Leeds/Wire win; round 2 fixtures of Cas v Wire and Wigan v Leeds; Saints get clubcall of those two fixtures.

In scenario one, let's assume Wire and Leeds win round 2, Wigan could choose Wire to have Wigan v Wire and Cas v Leeds for semi.

Scenario two: Wire and Wigan win round 2, Hudds could choose Wire and have Hudds v Wire and Cas v Wigan for final.

Scenario three: Cas and Leeds win round 2, Saints could choose us and have Wigan v Leeds

Scenario 4: Cas and Wigan win, Saints choose us and have Hudds v Wigan

If leeds and wire win I think it would be safe to assume we would be chosen in club call if we lose to saints.

Apologies guys, it appears I've made a boo-boo. I didn't see the explanation underneath that diagram (going by diagram alone).

In week 2, the highest ranked team takes on the lowest ranked winner, and the other fixture is second highest loser v highest ranked winner

If we lose therefore, rather than playing Wire we would play Leeds at home.

From the playoff website
"Preliminary Semi-Final 2 -Lowest ranked Qualifying Play-Off Losing team (1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th) v Highest-ranked Elimination Play-off winning team (5th,6th,7th or 8th)"

therefore - If we lose on Friday and Widnes do wires then we will get Leeds at home!!!

Huddersfield football are at home on Saturday so I presume they'll want as much time as possible to change the lines on the pitch and get pitch ready for the game.

Huddersfield on Thurs
Saints/Cas on Fri

for me.

Way it's going tonight they might as well just leave the lines as they are & let 'em play footy instead lol

Their RHS defence was shocking.

saying that to finish conceeding nearly 60pts with one player missing is inexcusable - they gave up after 30mins. Fell to the oldest Wigan tactic - blast teams off the park in the first 20. Then reasess the situation.

No platform laid by the engine room either

Agree with recent posts, but surely the ridiculous format has a (large) part to play ... second bite of the cherry & all that.
There's another game tonight where the same thing might happen ... one way or another :-"

If we lost tonight, it would be nice to get Widnes at home next, followed by Huddersfield in the eliminator.?

We wouldn't get Widnes due to finishing 4th.

If we lose, we'd get highest placed winner

Hudds would get Widnes.

If Catalan win we'd get them, ditto Leeds if Widnes win, ditto Wire if they win.

I honestly. Think the whole schedule is too complicated, unless I'm getting old and grumpy(er)

Nope, you're right. How can we hope to attract new fans to the game when ones who've been watching it for most of their lives can't explain the playoffs! Trying to explain some of the rulings on the field is just as puzzling too, made worse by the self serving buffoon Cummins.
