Re: New Castleford
IMHO I thought Thaler had a pretty good game. As DP said after the game we beat ourselves, that game should have been dead and buried and WE let Saints back into it. DP was spot on when he said 'old cas', we hadn't seen the stupid errors for a while now but 2nd half was like going back 2 years. Hope New Cas rears its head next game.

Re: New Castleford
I was saying all 1st half the composure didn't seem to be there and we were trying to push the passes and that it'd come back to haunt us if we didn't improve. And in the 2nd half we got worse.
Long live the Tigers!!!
Re: New Castleford
if we didn't have any composer in the first half Saints must have been absolutely shocking, because for me it was the best 40 minutes in a game we have played for many a year, we took a unbeaten team & put 24 point's on them to there six, & on another day Dorn's try would have been given making it thirty & game over.
Saints rode there luck on Friday & they got away with it, I always thought you needed downward pressure to score a try not maybe if I'm really generous a fingernail, the ref was super quick going to the screen for Cas's tries, but when Turner knocked on the only people who didn't see it was the ref & his flag wavers.
Some are going on about our squad being too old, but for me that's rubbish, we have has much youth in our squad has any other club, the only mid thirty player was Lynch, & Gilmore, to be honest Lynch is one of our best players week on week, our other starting prop is one of the most experienced prop's at our club if not in SL & that's Huby at the ripe old age of 27.
We brought Finn to the club for a pittance, & he is has good a scrum half has we have seen for some time but he gets rubbished because he got ran over by a massive second row forward. whilst Webster was getting turned on a regular bases. In the second half there forward's got on top when we lost some composer, & that gave there half-back all the room he needed to turn the game with his kicks to either corner.
For me the partnership between Finn & Snayd, at half back his the difference between us now & this time last season, there running the game & organising our attack & difference, for the first time in 5 years were not reliant on one player to bring something to the table, were a team from one to seventeen who ever his wearing the shirt, although loosing to Saints in the last minute hurts, we won the same way against Wigan, & the players wont want to feel like they did on Friday after the hooter, but I will still take six from eight, with a point difference of 100 the plus side.

I agree with what you are saying we have had a wonderful start to the season and without a shadow of doubt IMO it would have been a 100% start if the refs had done their job and we would be getting a different reaction from the fans that are knocking Fridays performance.Frankas wrote:if we didn't have any composer in the first half Saints must have been absolutely shocking, because for me it was the best 40 minutes in a game we have played for many a year, we took a unbeaten team & put 24 point's on them to there six, & on another day Dorn's try would have been given making it thirty & game over.

Re: New Castleford
I'm not sure people are knocking the team , I think in general the team and the coaching staff are another two levels above what we've been served up for the past xxxxxx years !! And for all kinds of reasons of which are probably left in the past ....
But , the bar as been raised and as such the expectations grow , come on , we've been waiting a long time for somthing to cheer about !
I think we're a way of been the finished article and are doing fantastic with the squad we have.
Well done to all concerned ....
But we have to back our good start up by beating wakey , good and proper and don't let them" burst our bubble " !
