Let's all take a deep breath.

Post by Skip » 11 Jul 2008, 21:25

Right, i'll pop in first with this:

Yes, the result is embarassing. There's no getting away from that.

But, we've played a side in Saints that has been settled for many years, and are currently white hot on form.

We managed to score against them, so we did better than Quins in attack...

There's no excuses though. We got a tonking. There's not much point in us going off on one about it, we realistically expected to get beat, and beat well.

All we've got to do as fans right now is pull together, take a deep breath - temper how we feel about the result with a little bit of common sense, and just stick it out.

As a seperate point: Quins vs Cas - both teams have been tonked by a similar margin in the last couple of weeks, so that should be a good yard stick to see where we are performance-wise.

Let's get behind them and help give us a fighting chance.
Why do today what you can put off till tomorrow?

There is a thin line between insanity and genius. I walk that line every day.

I expected tonights scoreline as most did, especially watchimg how methodical St Helens were last week. Cardiff was a bad game for me and hurt lots more. However, dusted down and still smiling... still love ya Cas... get training hard and get stuck in at London... Hope TM plays Hlad and that Sarge is here by then. :)

Well said, last 5 games before us:-
Harlequins 0 - 54 Saints
Saints 46 - 16 Huddersfield Giants
Leeds Rhinos 12 - 26 Saints
Saints 58 - 20 Bradford Bulls
Saints 52 - 10 Hull Kingston Rovers

They're a class apart and anyone calling for TM's head after this is, in my opinion, expecting miracles.

Don't know about everyone else, but i have got to the point were it's just a numb feeling with Cas . Even if it's a Gap year and we are going for it the next three years, the damage is done and it will take a few years of moderate success to get this cas fan back on track . Yes i see a new stadium with our franchise, but i see the same old promises and clap trap were Cas are going .

Maybe they don't want to stand down because they want to rectify the mistakes they've made in seasons gone by.

Disappointed? YES

Disheartened? YES

But I`m determined to get behind the club for the next 2 months and ride the roller coaster to the end.Look on the bright side, which other clubs fans get a standing ovation from the opposition,as we did tonight.?

Agree mate, but the fans also need a team . Some grit showed second half but saints backed of too .

I will definately be going to Quins no matter what! Tonight at Saints was good with the crowd we really shook the silent Saints fans  but yeah im supporting them thick and thin and am passionate about Cas have and will and them who go to Saints on a friday night, weather foul, fact Saints are white hot form and 14 games unbeaten and them who went tonight i class them as supporters who are willing to go through anything that gets thrown there way!

Said that all game mate, it did actually look like we was putting the effort in and trying our best, the only thing is there is no way on earth we can match saints.

The next three games V Quins, Giants and wakey are our chance to get points. No point puting all out against a team like saints. Not worth the injuries in an already small squad at even at full strength. The next three they need to put all they can into .... and maybe a win at shedingley on the 15th of aug would be a nice touch lol.

Basically if we lose to Huddersfield then thats our chances of not finishing bottom over! looks like Hull are on the up and Huddersfield if they beat us will comfortably be 6 points clear of us with Warrington, Leeds and Bradford to play realistically where do you see a win coming from there!
