Thought Tookey did a job, and for London actually.
Was a very poor side at that time.

I remember a Yorkshire Cup semi replay v Featherstone, 2 points down to a Mark Knapper touchline conversion, last attack of the game, 3 man overlap 20 meters out and Larder chucks a pass out that nearly hit the wall at the back of the Princess Street Stand
I remember that all too well! #-o #-o
For me Frano Bottica, could kick them back heeled from the touchline for Wigin then misssed one from in front of the sticks on debut for us!

He was half the player, still talented but his pace had gone and never really felt his heart was in it. I was amazed at the time us getting his signature.

Peter coyne for me was a shocker. I can hop faster than he could run.

It's very subjective, we make a new signing and before the player put a shirt on, we all have an opinion as to whether or not that player is a good or bad signing, then after pulling on a Cas shirt, supporters have vastly differing opinions as to whether that player was a good or bad signing, I think a number of the names mentioned on here, were unwarranted, but of course, it's all about personal opinions.

Craig Greenhill is top of the list for me, even my auto spell checker didn't like him and changed his name to Greenville!

Another really bad signing was Steve Nash, a gem that Mildred picked up from Leigh, when he could have got their other prop, Chris Hill, although in his defence, Nash didn't get big raps before he signed for us!

I trust in DP's signings, but as we know, not all of them come off, but the large majority do and it's great to see the development of so many players under Daryl and his backroom staff.

Richard McKell, late 90's?
Mckell gave his all every time he was on the pitch
Brett Seymour he was just too much of a gamble.
Steve Ferris as CEO?
If McKell played then there was another one signed around the same time with a similar name who didn't, McVie or something?

Not blaming anyone lol...it's just a thread...and quite an amusing one.

Steve Crossley was an appalling signing, and Scott Moore was too really.

Got to be Sean Rudder for me. Couldn't run, tackle, pass, catch or kick. That aside he was ok.

I think it's between Rudder & Coyne?

Rudder WAS abysmal. Coyne was horrendous but had a tremendous kicking game.

I never rated Mitch Healey or Brent Sherwin either & Featherstone stitched us up big time 110k for Ian Smales. Apart from the regal trophy final he was pretty poor.

Totally missing the point.

Cas fans know the difference between a bad signing and the worst signing. There's not one name on here who was am excellent player in any body's book, and Sean Rudder/Peter Coyne look set for the award.

Can we inform them of our decision. Lol.

Smales might have been better if he had literally pulled his socks up!

Personally I always thought that Smales was a decent player but there used to be a guy who stood next to us at the Wheldon Road end who absolutely hated him.

If we lost the toss it was Smales''s fault...

I still see him down the lane and think that's the Smales basher. ...

Nowadays I think he's on this forum giving Massey stick.......

Memories.....

I thought he blew hot and cold. But I was referring to the fact that he wore his socks around his ankles mate :-)

Smales, though not great, was solid. Went up in my estimation when he played for us against Dewsbury away in the cup many moons ago. Played left second row, broke his arm in the first half and returned in the second with it strapped to him. He tackled one armed. Didn't do much in attack though!

Played cricket with Smales whilst he was at Fev; hit one of the biggest sixes I've ever seen.

As for the rugby, definitely on a par with Massey.
