Re: Todays game v Bradford.
yep ref was poor. its puzzling when he gives penalties but doesn't signal why. dixon deffo palmed it back and i think it was from of those crap kicks of finns you are all talking about. finn also put in another good tackling performance. gale was good though (may just be me but he has a bit of sean longs style about him) the entire bradford team has improved 100% since jimmy lowes took over. no surprise that they are now very good at slowing the ruck. channing really got stuck in when he eventually came on.

Spot on all of this. Gale is more zippy & buzzy than Finn, & with Clark gone Gale & Roberts need to, & will be be different to what we have this year in the halves. As for Finn, & I'm a fan, yes his kicking game wasn't good yesterday but as lurcher says he put another tackling stint in which he always does. I also can't remember when he was last "rested" (he was the only regular back that played at Wire the week before Wembley); whilst he maybe is in need of a break, it's hard to see him getting one now as I think to bring Ellis back would be a disaster.Andrew6666 wrote:I didn't see anything in Luke Gale today that made me think great signing. But, maybe it was an off day and he didn't want to upset his new employers, however, I said the same last year about Sneyd. Gaskell played well for Bulls.
Thought Lynch was mom, Jewitt gets better and better, I actually think that Jewitt has joined Lynch and Huby as one of our main props. Massey is getting better under DP and looks suited to 13.
In the bigger scheme of things & as DP said post match, no need to beat the guys up for some of yesterdays performance. I reckon we might see more of the same again next week but it will be 2 points whatever against the Pussies. Bigger fish to fry in 2 weeks & beyond (& by the time we go to France our likely final position will be a lot clearer so we'll know what we need to try & do there). COYF

lynch outstanding massey jewitt close behind thought channing looked good when he came on looks fit again gale will be a good signing think lynch was penalised for something when sneyd kicked through and scored didnt see what he did tho

He ran a line... Which was straight through the Bradford player.yorky wrote:Any lynch was put on report, we were too far away to see what happened, what did he do?
The Bradford player and Lynchy weren't looking at each other and he didn't expect Lynchy coming at him, thus hitting him like a train.
Harsh IMO, ref ruled it as obstruction, I don't understand why it took him for Cas to score a try to bring it all the way back

For what its worth I thought Gale was their creative force yesterday, his inside balls were casuing us problems all afternoon, I know he provided two delightful short passes that put Gaskell through and I think he also passed the third?
His kicking game was ok, nothing special, but with ball in hand he was a real danger, think he will go well for us next year rotated around 6 & 7 with Finn and Roberts and also with young Reynolds in the mix.
I think Bradford fans slating him is just sour grapes to be honest.

That's the thing that confused us.the40/20 wrote: Harsh IMO, ref ruled it as obstruction, I don't understand why it took him for Cas to score a try to bring it all the way back
My understanding was that once a tackle was completed then the ref ruled play on and he couldn't go back for a previous incident after ball had been played.

Think that the common concensus on yesterdays game was that Lynch, Massey and Jewitt all played well. The interesting one is Jewitt. He has stepped up to the plate remarkably well this season after playing in the French Championship, the standard of which is below our Championship (Fev, Fax, Batley etc). Which is very heartening because theoretically he should be an even better player next year, with a pre seasons full time training and conditioning behind him. Bear in mind that the French league is only part time, so he would have only been doing part time training with him. So he should be even fitter and stronger next season. I have heard from the Salford fans and others that he is a keen fitness trainer so he will be looking forward to our pre season conditioning.

There's a report on disciplinaries on the SL sitethe40/20 wrote:He ran a line... Which was straight through the Bradford player.yorky wrote:Any lynch was put on report, we were too far away to see what happened, what did he do?

Lynch isn't mentioned, so presumably OK?
