Not Exactly a Sport but, thought Id kep you in the loop:

Top Gear presenter Richard Hammond is improving but remains seriously ill in hospital after he crashed a jet-powered car during filming for the BBC show.

The 36-year-old was thought to be driving at about 300mph on an airfield near York when he crashed on Wednesday

Whilst I endorse your best wishes one has to say that it was only a matter of time before one of the three presenters got badly hurt.

Top gear has gone from an informative motoring show to an adrenlin filled high octane fuelled loon parade.

If a motorcycling show presented itself in that way the ban em all brigade would be out in force.

Richard has been diagnosed with a "Serious Brain Injury" his wife, Mindy, is at his bedside and his co-hosts, Jeremy Clarkson and James May have visited him. Clarkson, using Hammonds nick-name said "We hope to get out hamster back very soon."
Richard Hammond is being cared for in the Intensive Care Unit at Leeds General Infirmary, Doctors there say they are "reasonably optimistic" that the 36-year-old Top Gear and Brainiac star would make a good recovery.

Got to agree, they act like pratts and it's was only a matter of time before one of them ended up in this situation.

Richard has now been moved out of Intesiove Care and Doctors are hopeful of a speedy recovery (not quite as speedy as the 300mph he was travelling when the accident occured)

Top Gear presenter Richard Hammond has got out of bed and walked after suffering brain injuries in a high-speed crash, co-host Jeremy Clarkson told The Sun newspaper on Saturday.

He walked from the helicopter to a ambulance when he was being transferred hospitals yesterday. He is making a great recovery.

As far as I know, he just moved hospitals. To be in one closer to his home, so his family didn't have to travel as far.
