Thackeray and Haberecht head for loan moves.

Tigers' youngsters Tom Haberecht and Anthony Thackeray are being allowed to leave the club temporarily on loan, as they search for more regular action.

Haberecht, who signed for the club during the off-season, has seen himself slip down the pecking order at The Jungle, following the recent signings of Ned Catic and Brendan Hlad. It is believed that York City Knights could be his destination, with player-coach Paul March impressed following the Aussie's performance in the recent friendly.

There are also question marks on whether he has been allowed to leave so that the club can register Ned Catic as an overseas player. With the club already having a number of quota and overseas players on the books, it would make sense to allow one of the Tigers' Australian youngsters to leave in favour of someone experienced, as the club searches for its third victory of the season this weekend against Wakefield Wildcats at the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff.

Thackeray, meanwhile, joined the club during last season on loan from Hull FC. During his tenure, which began away at Batley, he made an impression with a big future in the game touted.

Similarly, Thackeray has seen his position slip due to the contributions of Luke Dorn at half-back. With him participating in reserve grade rugby league, and with the prospect of only two Super League games to play for in the following weeks, the chance of four first-team games at Halifax is an opportunity too good to turn down, it would seem.
