Thackeray to Widnes?
Anthony Thackeray may be on the move to Widnes for next year.
The offiicial site has confirmed today that the club are keen to free up squad places and would be happy to terminate Thackeray's contract should he so wish to move.
If Thacks agree's to move, he will follow fellow Tiger, Scott Moore in leaving at the end of the season as Cas' look at strengthening the squad for the 2009 season and beyond. The clubs head coach, Terry Matterson, said "It looks as if Anthony has a chance to move on and we wouldn’t stand in his way, especially if it means regular first grade football for him. He proved an astute signing for us last year and played a key part in our promotion but this year his appearances have been limited."
It seems that it would be in Anthony's best interest to accept a contract at an NL1 club for next year, any further developments will be posted as soon as they have been decided.

In addition to this Dean Widders has also signed a 3 year deal however the club have yet to confirm this. Sources come from: Press Association, Fox Sports and his club South Sydney.
Terry Matterson had the following to say regarding Chase: "I am really pleased to get Rangi on board. He is very quick, has good skills, is a hard worker and a strong defender. We intend to be strong in the pivotal positions next year and while we see Rangi playing primarily in the halves, he can also do an excellent job at hooker with his speed and passing game and his arrival increases our options."

Mitchell Gets to Work
Mitchell Sargent was the guest of honour at yesterdays ´License to Party´ and many fans were pleased to meet him. Mitchell had his second training session with the team today and head coach, Terry Matterson, is pleased with what he has seen from Sargent.
"I’ve coached Mitchell before with Melbourne Storm for quite a few years and he has plenty of experience. He has played in the NRL for about 6 years and has played with three of the top clubs including Melbourne Storm, North Queensland Cowboys and Newcastle Knights. He is big and strong and has good skill," said Matterson.
Terry has said that Mitchell will be named in the 19-man squad for Sundays clash against Huddersfield, "He will have a full week of preparation and a chance to settle in and meet the boys. He already feels part of the team and is an easygoing guy. He is really jumping out of his skin to play on Sunday because he has waited 6 weeks to come over and so is really excited at the prospect of finally playing with the Tigers.”
