Huby signs three-year deal

Craig Huby is the latest Tigers player to sign a new deal, following in the footsteps of teammates Joe Westerman and Ryan McGoldrick.

Huby is the longest serving player at the club, after making his debut five years ago when he was just 17 years of age.

The youngster will now extend his contract for a further three years, throughout the franchise era.

Speaking to the official website, Tigers Coach Terry Matterson said: “I’m really pleased that Craig has signed a new deal. Although still only young, he has been here for some time now and been through the clubs recent up’s and down’s.

“He deserves this, we feel that we have laid a platform with him and that his best rugby is in front of him and it’s good that we have tied up another of the players who has come through the clubs Academy system.”

Huby added: “I’m very happy to have signed this new deal. I’ve been at the club six years now and had no wish to move away. We have had some disappointments this season but I feel that the clubs future is very bright, and as a local lad I want to be part of it.

“I feel that I am playing more consistently this year and appreciate the support that I have had from the coaching team here at the club.”
